The Reserve Bank of India is the administrative body under the locale of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. Eligibility

The RBI Assistant Exam Syllabus for the preliminary and main examination is subdivided into various topics:

Stages for RBI Assistant Selection Process

There are three stages for the RBI Assistant selection process, preliminary examination, main examination, and language proficiency test, that are taken into consideration for selecting a candidate. Candidates who qualify for the preliminary exam are eligible to write the main exam. However, if you cannot clear the preliminary exam, you cannot move ahead to the main exam. If you clear both the preliminary and main bank examinations, then you are eligible to apply for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

RBI Assistant Selection Phase-1

The first phase consists of a preliminary examination, an objective-based exam of 100 questions, which needs to be completed within one hour, with 20 minutes for each section. The pattern has been presented below:

• English Language: 30 questions for 30 marks
• Numerical Ability: 35 questions for 35 marks
• Reasoning Ability: 35 questions for 35 minutes

 

NOTE: Candidates must secure marks as prescribed by RBI to clear the cut-off percentage and state-wise requirements for the next round. However, the marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be counted in the final selection.

RBI Assistant Selection Phase-2

The main examination is an important stage for the RBI Assistant Selection Procedure, as the marks obtained in Phase-2 are vital to the whole process. Candidates need to secure a required percentage to reserve their seats for respective roles in RBI Banks. The main exam is an objective-based test consisting of 200 questions. It is divided into Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, English Language, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. Each section shall carry 40 questions with one mark each, comprising 200 marks.

RBI Assistant Selection Phase-3

Phase-3 is the final stage, where provisionally selected candidates have to appear for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT). These tests will be conducted in each state’s local language. Students who are not proficient in the local language will be disqualified for this role.

 

Note:

• Each candidate has to qualify in an objective test, keeping in mind the cut-off and negative marking, which makes it helpful to score good marks to get through the merit list.
