People TV

People TV Is the New Name of Time Inc.’s Celeb and Entertainment Online Network

A yr. after launching the People/Entertainment Weekly Network — PEN for short — Time Inc. has scrapped the call for a less complicated moniker: People TV.

The free, ad-supported online-video community consists of short- and long-shape programming masking celebrities, pop culture, way of life, and human-hobby testimonies. Since its September 2016 debut, the community has introduced greater than a hundred million perspectives of its content material and its apps had been downloaded greater than 2 million times, in step with Time Inc.

While the rebranding drops EW from the call, Time Inc. stated Entertainment Weekly Studios “will maintain to contribute drastically to People TV programming.” The business enterprise stated it made the transfer to leverage People magazine’s “recognizable and iconic” brand (and there’s no argument it’s greater identifiable than “PEN”).

Time Inc. this summer time season removed three hundred jobs, as a part of a broader restructuring and strategic shift closer to video. That got here after the business enterprise in April ended talks to promote itself to involved bidders. For more info
